The European Childhood Obesity Group Belgium
The European Childhood Obesity Group (ECOG) is a pan-European group of professionals funded in 1991 with the mission to help the European community at large to fully understand the health, social, psychological and economic impacts of childhood obesity. ECOG brings together experts from across the board including paediatricians, psychologists, nutritionists, geneticists, physical activity experts, economists and many more.
People
Since more than a decade Luigi serves as Secretary General for the European Childhood Obesity Group. Luigi is based in Brussels. He has a profound knowledge of European processes and institutions. He coordinates ECOG projects and activities ranging from the organization of ECOG’s annual scientific congress to scientific publications, participation to European projects and major educational initiatives such as the ECOG free ebook on childhood obesity.
Leila is a Policy and Advocacy Officer for the European Childhood Obesity Group. Previously, she worked as a Political Specialist and later as Protocol Manager at the U.S. Embassy in Belgium. Leila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from McGill University, as well as a Master’s degree in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
David is Professor in Exercise physiology , human nutrition and energy metabolism at the University Clermont Auvergne. Is work mainly focuses on the metabolism and appetite control in the context of weight variation and he actually is the president of ECOG.
